6 Mysterious Historical Crimes That Are yet To Be Solved

There has been raging debate on whether the internet is good or bad for society. A lot of information can be found online: one can research their history paper; find out how to cheat on a video game and also how to commit perfect murders. Law enforcement also uses it to solve crimes but they are yet to solve these ones.

1. Ted Loseff’s suicide.

Ted Loseff, a Los Angeles man was found dead in his running car, with a hose that had been fed from the tailpipe to the window and the police concluded it was suicide. His family found holes in this conclusion though. Ted never parked in the garage, he always did so out front. His suicide note was on a shirt cardboard but his maid used a hanger. The same maid claims that though ted purchased the shirt, he never wore it. Police believed that vomit they found belonged to Ted’s dogs but according to the maid, the dogs were locked up in the kennel on that week. The case was reopened as a murder but the police have yet to find the killer.

2. The unfortunate meeting of Lenny Dirickson

Lenny and his son, Jared, were having breakfast on 14th March 1998 on Dirickson dairy farm when a stranger pulled up their driveway in a white truck. Lenny went and greeted the stranger, then calmly told his son he would go with the stranger and return in the afternoon. To this day, Lenny has not returned.

3. The Golden Buddha case

Albert Fuchigami and Roger Roxas embarked on an expedition in 1970 after they found a treasure map that had been given to Albert by his father, an officer during World War II in the Japanese army. They followed the map to a Buddha golden depiction that weighed close to 2,000 pounds. A crack on the neck of the Buddha showed it was filled with diamonds. The Buddha was stolen in Roxas house a day later in a raid. Some people believe that the Buddha remained in Ferdinand Marcos palace. He was a dictator who ruled Philippines from 1965 to 1986.

4. The D.B Cooper case
The D.B Cooper case

A passenger named Dan Cooper, bought a ticket for the Northwest Airlines Flight 305 on November 21st 1971. With him was a briefcase that had a bomb. Cooper hijacked the plane and threatened to bomb it if $200,000 was not sent to him. He received the money plus a parachute and before the plane landed in Mexico from Seattle, cooper jumped from the plane, never to be found. To date, this is the only air piracy case that remains unsolved in America.

5. The Somerton man case
The Somerton man case

A well-dressed man was found dead on the Somerton Beach in Australia by a couple. Interestingly, his clothes labels had been removed and there was a page from the Persian book of poems, “The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam” sewn on his coat lining. “Taman shud” which is Persian for “finished”, was also written on the paper. Months later, a book that had the exact same page ripped was found and with it was a code that was never cracked.

6. The Tylenol murders.

A girl woke up in Chicago with complaints of a cold In 1982. She was given Tylenol by her parents and died. On the same day, a mailman who had aching knees took Tylenol and died too. His sister in law and brother died too from taking the same Tylenol. Seven people were killed by Tylenol but to date, no suspect has been caught.

It’s sad, scary and strange that even with modern day detectives and the internet these crimes have yet to be solved. So, lock your doors!

Thousands Of Exotic Fish Have Turned This Abandoned Shopping Mall Into An Aquarium

Once upon a time, this mall used to be full of shoppers, but now, its home to thousands of fish after it got flooded. New World Mall was built in the 1980’s but was closed in 1997. This was after it was found that the owners had breached building regulations. The mall was originally 11-storeys with seven floors taller than what was approved by the construction blueprint.  In 1999, a fire broke out in the same building and it was left without a roof. Later, the 5th to 11th floors were dismantled so that the mall got in line with its original construction plans.

Slowly by slowly, the mall filled up with water and they started encountering mosquito problems. To get rid of the pests, locals introduced fresh waster tilapia into the mall to eat the mosquitoes. Within time, the fish thrived and quickly multiplied. The mall’s lower floors are now filled with fish swimming around the now rusty escalators and across a 5,000sq foot floor.  The shops around the mall have taken advantage of this and now sell fish to tourists. To protect the fish, the mall is protected and throwing anything else into it is banned. In fact, a clear sign outside the mall (written in Thai) says: “Do not throw anything into the water”.

Jesse Rockwell, a 30-year-old backpacker, stumbled across the mall while he was travelling in Thailand. “It is quite bizarre - I was really surprised when I came across it. It is literally three blocks away from backpacker central, but nobody is even aware it is there,” he said. “It was very quiet in the mall; I could only hear the sound of splashing fish, even though it's close to a main road.”

“At some point in the early 2000′s an unknown person began introducing a small population of exotic Koi and Catfish species. The small population of fish began to thrive and the result is now a self-sustained and amazingly populated urban aquarium”- he explains in his blog."Some people think it was set ablaze because it was too tall. Lots of people in old town Bangkok think it is insulting to build something taller than The Grand Palace. So when the mall was built, people got really angry.”

"TSA Agent Stole Goods Worth $800,000 From Travelers Luggage. This Video Shows How They Do It"

A TSA agent was in 2012 convicted of stealing goods worth more than $800,000 from travelers. He said this was a common theft among airport security. Pythias Brown worked at Newark Liberty International as a Transportation Security Administration officer before his arrest. He had spent four years stealing laptops, clothes, Nintendo Wiis, cameras, video games and cash from luggage and security checkpoints.

After a 3 years imprisonment, Brown spoke publicly about the theft. He located valuable items to steal with the help of X-ray scanners. He worked alone most of the time screening luggage behind ticket counters and the overhead surveillance cameras that had been installed to prevent theft were not working.

Brown claimed that most officers are prompted to steal due to the low pay they get and bad treatment. The TSA managers also never check the employee’s bags as they leave. This shows how extensive airport theft is and the problems passenger’s face when they travel with valuables.

Whether you've ever been a victim of luggage theft or not, this video is a must watch. It will help you protect yourself from theft as you travel. Airport crime is a reality and unfortunately many people realize they've been robbed when it’s too late and their items are gone.

This video will show you how the thieves break into your luggage and snitch anything they can from you. Even if you use a deadbolt lock, they will get into your checked luggage if they want something from it. Whether you are a frequent traveler or not, you need to watch this. Please also share it to help your friends protect themselves too.

Food This Man Eats Turns Into Alcohol. He Gets Hammered On Eating Bread!

Mathew Hogg is a 34 year old man whose digestive system has an excess of yeast. The British man gets drunk on eating bread and pasta. It’s like his body is capable of producing its own alcohol! Cool, right? No! Hogg has a very rare disorder known as auto-brewery syndrome. Imagine every time you eat a doughnut or hamburger, you get hammered and the following day you are nursing a hangover. It’s fun to get tipsy sometimes but when you have to always be drunk or hangover, the fun becomes a horror story. It’s extremely hard to hold down a relationship, job or even drive a car.

Whenever Hogg eats carbohydrates or sugar, his intestines convert the food into ethanol, which as we know, is purely alcoholic. A slice of pizza to him is like doing shots of Everclear. In an interview with Vice, Hoggs explained he has to struggle to make through his day. It’s not fun getting drunk for free if you are in his situation. "It's had a huge and devastating effect on my life," he told Vice

He was always tired and disoriented as a teenager before he was diagnosed.  Once a straight A student and Athlete, he found himself exhausted after few jogs and lost focus during exams.  $80,000 is all it took for Hog to be diagnosed with the auto-brewery disorder by a Mexican doctor. (The disorder is also known as the gut fermentation syndrome.) He now has to observe a strict diet to manage his condition.

His chronic fatigue affects him in many ways and it becomes hard to sometimes hold a full time job. He runs the Environmental Illness Resource website that’s about disorders like his for income. He lives with his girlfriend Mandy who is a teacher.

“Stubborn disbelief” from those around him is one of the difficult things Hogg has to deal with. "I'm constantly reading messages from visitors to my website who suffer from the condition, saying their doctor, boss, co-workers, and even friends, family and partners, just don't understand," he tells Vice. "People think we're just making this condition up."

Top 6 Bizarre Courses That Really Exist In Colleges

The Twitter hashtag #Worse CollegeClasses has been catching on like wildfire, although the grammar has the most criticism. It was started as an honor to finals week and to remind students of how it could be worse. In light of this, here are some courses you should maybe steer clear off when registering for courses in college.

1. Breaking Down Breaking bad

During the spring 2014 semester, SUNY Buffalo students had the opportunity to enroll in a “Breaking Down Breaking Bad” Seminar. Listed in the UB law school, the media studies and theater department and visual studies, the course according to a news release from the school, studies an interesting program. "'Breaking Bad' goes into narrative and human and social complexity as no TV program has before.” Although it might be illegal, I wonder whether in future they could incorporate a chemistry class based on Walter White.

2. Philosophy and Star Trek

Georgetown University Students studying Philosophy, read works of Kant, Aristotle and others under the pretext of trying to understand Star Trek Philosophical depths. The course is an introduction to metaphysics and epistemology philosophy. It tries to dissect major philosophical questions presented by science fiction dramas.

3. Gardening and world religions

This is a course offered at Holy Cross. Students who partake this course, study the historical and cultural backgrounds of the major gardens in the world associated with religions. Field trips are made to regional gardens during the course duration and as a final project, the students have to design a small virtual contemplative garden that could be constructed at a specific campus site. The field trips do sound cool though.

4. Pet Product Design and Marketing

At Fashion Institute of Technology, New York, students can study branding, design, apparel sales, accessories and pet lifestyle products. Not a bad idea considering the many pooches sports sweaters on offer. At least they get to learn the ins and outs of cat collar designs!

5. Stupidity
Top 6 Bizarre Courses That Really Exist In Colleges
This course is offered at Occidental college. ‘Stupidity’ is not about a quality the students’ possess but the name of the course. Works of Gilles Deleuze, Friedrich Nietzche and others are used to explain that ‘stupidity’ is neither organicity or ignorance but a result of knowing and a normalcy element. It’s a double of intelligence not it’s opposite. The course is a philosophical examination of operations and technologies we conduct so as to be rendered uncomprehending. According to the course description: “Stupidity, which has been evicted from the philosophical premises and dumbed down by psychometric psychology, has returned in the postmodern discourse against Nation, Self, and Truth and makes itself felt in political life ranging from the presidency to Beevis and Butthead. This course examines stupidity.”

6. Learning From Youtube

Considering the hashtag #WorseCollegeClasses on Twitter, Pitzer College in California takes the price. Students do meet in a classroom but they mostly work online. They view content on YouTube and post comments. Lessons are also posted on YouTube and students are encouraged to do the same. One student, for example, posted a video of himself juggling that lasts for 1:36-minutes. Apparently the professor set up the course so students could study the impact of YouTube on society.
Do you know any other #WorseCollegeClasses students wouldn’t want to take?

Here Are Some Pictures Of The Exotic Looking House Of A Mexican Drug Lord After It Was Raided

These are astounding pictures of Mexican Drug Lord, After Being Raided. Inside the house, the authorities found a collection of guns that would not be a match for any museum in the world. Some were made of solid gold while others were Titanium. Most of them were not meant for firing and were just objects of art. One matched pair of guns was found with a golden Virgin Mary on the handle inscribed ‘Go and Kill in the name of the Lord my son’. There was also ample ammo available, just in case any trouble started.

Money found in the house was packed in every corner of the house including wardrobes, plastic bins and suitcases. It was a total of 22 billion dollars in cash when counted. Most of it was in US Dollars, some in Mexican pesos, Euros, Chinese Yen and Hong Kong dollars. They also found a mountain of jewels that was of unknown value, 1 lab of unknown value in construction and 7 vehicles.

Apart from the cash, the authorities found a man made cave that had a built in hot tub in the house and a backyard pool. The drug Lord also kept some exotic animals that were being taken care of in a grand way. Strangely enough he also kept a total of 8 lions on the property. A rare type of tiger was also found and some pumas. He also had a collection of exotic art that was either illegally owned or stolen.

The money found could have been enough to cater for 12 years health insurance of men, women and children in the USA. It’s believed that another 27 houses like this one are available in Mexico alone. If you calculate others in other countries that are available due to illicit drug trade, then the number increases. These drug dealers make so much money- It could buy some cops, the best politicians, judges and anyone who would help them with their deals. This is one of the reasons why it’s so hard to fight the drug problem.
