52 days before her wedding, Janine lost her fiance, Johnny, and instead of collapsing in grief, she did an amazing thing. To honor him, she did a photo shoot at the Mayan Rivera in Mexico, while wearing the dress she didn't get to wear on her wedding day. The shoot was done underwater since she felt a connection to the element of water; not only for its purifying and cleansing qualities but also for the sense of freedom she got while swimming. Matt Adcock, a destination wedding photographer, of the Del Sol Photography shot the photos in partnership with Dreams Resort. After he heard her story, he decided to create her a magical adventure. The photos are emotional and they moved even Adcock himself. "I spoke with Janine before we embarked on the adventure together and did a little planning. I told her that I felt like we could do something amazing for her, and we agreed that the project would serve both as healing for her and as an inspirational message for others." For Janine, the photos helped her let go of what should have been, "At the end of the day, I felt so accomplished and I felt more alive than I have ever felt since [the day my fiancé died]," she said."I really felt that Johnny was smiling down at me and finally giving me closure."She says that during the photo shoot, she had the best time and for the first time since her fiancé passed, she was having fun.“I want to move on and explore the world. I want to meet people who I can share that with. After the shoot I felt like all this was possible.""If I could reach out to anyone suffering from a loss, I would tell them this. Listen to YOUR heart! You are the most important person and only YOU can help yourself.”The photos tell a beautiful story of hope and healing. Would you do the same if something like this happened?
